Catherine Bertrand previously served as the STC Artistic Director from 2006 – 2008. Directorial credits with Salem Theatre include: Medea, Angels in America, Part One, The Rocky Horror Show, The Normal Heart, Crime and Punishment, Hair, The Eight: Reindeer Monologues, No Exit, Proof, Book of Days, and All in the Timing. Other credits include The Longwood Players production of The Heidi Chronicles (DASH Award Nomination for Best Director and Best Production), One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Endgame, and Twelve Angry Jurors (co-director; KCACTF Best Ensemble Award). Catherine has also directed pieces for several SLAMBoston Festivals and Boston Theatre Marathons. Catherine’s directorial debut at Salem State College, Moonchildren, garnered her the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Region I Director honor for which she was chosen to direct for the Ten-Minute National Play Festival at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. She also participated in the 2009 Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab in New York City. From 2011 - 2015 Catherine served as the co-director for the METG High School Drama Festival productions at the St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers. She will also be directing 2017's first Mainstage Production of Waiting for Godot opening in April.
